Jon Broder

Strategic Advisory Board

Jon Broder is a seasoned attorney and freight rail expert with over 30 years of experience in business negotiations, regulatory strategy, and complex transactions. As Chief Legal Officer at Conrail, he managed all legal functions for one of the largest freight railroads in the Northeast and Midwest. He played a key role in the largest railroad transaction in U.S. history, overseeing the restructuring of Conrail’s law department and negotiating critical agreements.

As Vice President of Corporate Development, Jon supervised Conrail’s $1.2 billion real estate portfolio and led business development initiatives. He has extensive experience with trackage rights agreements, contract negotiations, and regulatory compliance, making him a trusted advisor on freight rail issues.

 

Before joining Conrail, Jon practiced law at Pepper Hamilton LLP. He currently serves as an Adjunct Professor at Temple University School of Law, where he teaches courses on railroad law and industry history. At Telos, he advises public and private sector clients on freight rail operations, infrastructure transactions, and contract negotiations.
